Privacy policy

WattNerds ("we") runs wattnerds.com. We collect as little as we can. We don't have user accounts, we don't set advertising cookies, and we don't sell personal information.

What we collect

• Server and security logs. The site is hosted on Cloudflare, which processes technical data such as IP address, browser type and requested pages to deliver the site and protect it from abuse. See Cloudflare's privacy policy.
• Anonymous usage statistics. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count page views and see which pages are useful. It does not use cookies or track you across other websites.
• Outbound clicks. When you click a link to a retailer, it passes through a /go/ address on our site so we can count clicks per product. We don't attach any personal identifier to it.
• Emails you send us. If you email us, we keep your message and address to reply, and for no other purpose.

Calculator and filters

The size calculator and comparison filters run entirely in your browser. What you enter is not sent to us. If you share a calculator link, the devices and numbers you chose are part of that link.

Retailers and affiliate programs

Once you leave our site for a retailer such as a manufacturer's store or Amazon, their privacy policy applies. Affiliate programs may set cookies on the retailer's site to credit a purchase to us. We receive aggregated reports of sales and commissions, not your personal details.

Your rights

Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR in the EU and UK, or the CCPA in California), you may have the right to access, correct or delete personal data we hold about you. Since we hold very little, the main case is emails you've sent us. Contact us and we'll handle the request.

Children

This site is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their data.
